At Klipra, we believe that your data belongs to you. As a clipboard manager, Klipra handles sensitive information daily, and we have designed the app with a "Privacy by Design" philosophy. This policy explains how we handle your data.
Data Collection & Storage
The Golden Rule: Your clipboard history never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable a synchronization feature (like iCloud).
- Local Storage: All clipboard items, including text, images, and files, are stored locally on your macOS device within the app's secure container.
- No Analytics: Klipra does not include any third-party tracking, crash reporting, or diagnostic tools that transmit your data to us or any third party.
- No Personal Info: We do not collect names, email addresses, or any other personally identifiable information (PII) through the app.
AI Transformations (Pro Feature)
Klipra Pro includes AI-powered features such as text summarization, code refactoring, and grammar correction.
- On-Demand Processing: AI processing only occurs when you manually select a transformation from the "Magic Wand" menu.
- Data Transmission: To perform these transformations, the selected text content is sent to our AI processing partners (e.g., OpenAI). This data is used solely to generate the requested transformation and is not used for training models by our partners.
- Local First: Whenever possible, Klipra uses on-device models for light processing to minimize external data transmission.
iCloud Synchronization
If you choose to enable iCloud Sync, your clipboard history is encrypted and stored in your private iCloud database. Apple and Klipra cannot access this data; only your authorized devices can decrypt and view it.
Third-Party Services
Klipra may use the following system services:
- Apple iCloud: For optional synchronization across your devices.
- Apple Vision Framework: For on-device OCR (Optical Character Recognition) when extracting text from images.
Your Rights
Since we do not store your data on our servers, you have full control over your information:
- Deletion: You can clear your entire clipboard history or delete specific items directly within the app at any time.
- Export: You can copy or export any item from your history as needed.
Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
