By downloading or using BatchRename, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app. These terms supplement Apple's standard End User License Agreement (EULA), which also applies.
1. License
WilliamSoftware grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use BatchRename on any Apple device you own or control, subject to these Terms and Apple's App Store Terms of Service.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute the application or its content
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the app
- Rent, lease, lend, sell, or sublicense the app
- Remove any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
2. In-App Purchases
BatchRename offers optional in-app purchases ("Add-ons") that unlock additional features. These are one-time, non-consumable purchases:
- Encode & Encrypt — unlocks MD5/SHA hashing and AES-256 encrypt/decrypt
- Smart Renaming — unlocks regex support and Formula engine
- Metadata Tags — unlocks EXIF, ID3, video, PDF metadata tag embedding
- All Features Bundle — unlocks all three add-ons
All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Prices may vary by region. Once purchased, add-ons are tied to your Apple ID and can be restored on any device using the same Apple ID via the Restore Purchases button.
No refunds are provided by WilliamSoftware. For refund requests, contact Apple directly: reportaproblem.apple.com.
3. Your Files
BatchRename operates on files stored on your local device. You are solely responsible for:
- Ensuring you have the right to rename any files you process with the app
- Maintaining backups of important files before performing batch rename operations
- Any consequences arising from renaming files on your device
BatchRename includes an undo feature (CMD+Z) to reverse rename operations. However, WilliamSoftware is not responsible for data loss, file system errors, or any damage resulting from the use of the app.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use BatchRename to:
- Rename files in violation of applicable laws or regulations
- Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
- Rename system files or application bundles in a way that damages your operating system
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
BatchRename is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. WilliamSoftware does not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet your specific requirements.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WilliamSoftware shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of business, arising out of or related to your use of BatchRename, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
In no event shall WilliamSoftware's total liability exceed the amount you paid for the app and any add-ons in the twelve months preceding the claim.
7. Updates
WilliamSoftware may update BatchRename from time to time to add features, fix bugs, or address security issues. Updates distributed through the App Store are subject to Apple's terms. You are responsible for installing updates to ensure continued compatibility and security.
8. Termination
These Terms remain in effect until terminated. Your rights under these Terms terminate automatically if you fail to comply with any of its provisions. Upon termination, you must stop using and delete all copies of BatchRename from your devices.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which WilliamSoftware is established, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will update the "Last Updated" date when changes are made. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Apple's EULA
BatchRename is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple's standard End User License Agreement also applies and is incorporated here by reference: apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
As between Apple and WilliamSoftware, WilliamSoftware is solely responsible for BatchRename and its content.
